About the Program

The MSN-FNP program offers online coursework and local clinicals, totaling 49 units, with both full-time (20 months) and part-time (24 months) options. The curriculum integrates interdisciplinary core courses, specialty training, and hands-on experience, meeting top national standards from the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

Students complete three semesters of clinical practicum hours in their community, attend two on-campus intensives in Sacramento, and collaborate with a clinical coordinator to secure appropriate practicum sites. They also benefit from Samuel Merritt University’s extensive network of qualified clinical preceptors."
